Great Product September 2, 2010 Mystikal I bought this product for my daughter after an ATV accident that crushed her femur and left her unable to walk or bend her leg for months and had to keep her leg elevated. It is very well built and very sturdy. It is not too heavy to lift into the trunk, although a bit awkward. I would recommend this product to anyone needing a well built wheelchair for a great price.
Pros: Sturdy, well built, elevating leg rests, folds up and fits into the trunk of a car, everything is detachable.
Cons: None
Poor tires August 16, 2010 Barbara A. Wakefield (N.Bloomfield, Ohio United States) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This is a very nice wheelchair EXCEPT for the tires.Wheelchair arrived assembled but tires were off rims. We took chair to a bike shop where tires were applied to rims. Approximately, a week later a tire came off rim while chair in use and again had to be replaced. A second and more annoying problem with the tires is the black marks left on flooring everywhere the chair is used. The problem is the tires as the chair is only used in the house. Marks are on all types of surfaces,i.e linoleum, tile, carpet .
Very Highly Recommended August 11, 2010 Marie R. Wilson (South Florida) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I broke my leg and was looking at nearly two months on crutches. After the first week I was frustrated at all the things I couldn't do because I needed both hands for the crutches, plus I was sore all over and my broken leg would swell from dangling down. This simply was NOT going to work for a month and a half! So I checked the cost of renting a small wheelchair but the price of renting would have been at least as much as buying this chair. I did shop around and look at numerous chairs from numerous places, comparing all the features and prices along with reviews for the chair AND the store. Of course I know Amazon is totally trustworthy so that was a good start, and I chose this particular chair because of the elevating leg rests along with the full sized rear wheels. I can now keep my broken leg elevated to reduce swelling and discomfort, and am able to wheel myself around with very little effort.
The chair arrived fully assembled except that the leg rests were not attached. When my husband pulled it out of the box he thought it was a full sized wheelchair and would not fit through most doorways in our home. I had checked the sizes of chairs as well and thought perhaps the dimensions I'd read were incorrect. But this chair does indeed fit through the doorways; it's not as big as it looks! However, I am not a petite person, and do fit in the chair very comfortably.
Elevating and lowering the leg rest is too easy. When I need to put it down to turn through a tight spot I simply press a lever at the top of the leg rest. To raise it again I just lift the leg rest to the level where I want it and it locks in place automatically.
I removed the other leg rest as I use my 'good' foot to steer or move a little this way or that, and removing or replacing the leg rests is very easy also. There is a small locking bar that you pull to the side and just lift the leg rest off. Replacing it is just as easy: Put the 2 holes down on the 2 pegs and close the locking bar.
The legs extend and contract the same way you would lengthen crutches. Push the little buttons in, slide to desired length, and lock by lining buttons up with holes at that point. I don't use the plastic foot rest because all I really need is the nice padded leg rest that keeps my leg comfortably elevated, so it's nice that the foot rest can be turned and folded out of the way.
The chair itself rolls and turns very easily and I'm glad I got one with the large wheels in back. I think I would have soon tired of scooting with one foot if I'd chosen a chair that only had the four small wheels. And this chair has the hand bar outside of the big wheels so you can propel yourself by hand without ever touching the dirty wheels.
There are rear wheel locks at the front on both sides which are very easy to operate. I push the levers forward to lock the wheels when I need to stand on one foot to reach something, and my chair is safely under me and immobile when I sit back down. I flip the levers back toward me and I'm free-wheeling once again.
Folding and opening the chair is a snap. You simply squeeze it together and pull it back apart. No troublesome locks or levers to mess with. It's also rather light weight so it's easy to move or load into your vehicle.
The arm rests are at a perfect height and nicely padded. The seat and back rest are padded also. This chair is VERY comfortable!!
I did a great deal of research before deciding to purchase this particular chair, and of all the chairs I looked at, this one had all the best features as well as an amazing price. I ordered the chair on July 30th and received it on August 5th with Free Shipping from Amazon. The price has gone up about $25 since then so I'm glad I bought it when I did, but it's still an excellent price for this wonderful chair!
If you have need of a wheel chair, whether it's temporary or long-term, you won't find a better chair than this one. It will serve all your needs, comfortably and conveniently, without emptying your wallet. So don't suffer with crutches. Just get this chair and make your life a lot easier! You will NOT be sorry!

I recieved my chain in ONLY 4 days. It's light enough I can fold it and move it by myself. The chair is ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC!!
Crappy July 28, 2010 M. Wright 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
