The Adam Equipment PTM 500 & GK Drum/Wheelchair scale has a capacity of up to 1100 lb. (500 kg) and an accuracy of 0.2 lb. (100 g), also called readability. This scale has a four load-cell, low-profile platform for use with drums and wheelchairs. The included GK indicator has a large backlit display, with full numerical keypad and standard RS-232 interface for PCs and printers. The platform measures 32.3 x 30.7 inches (820 x 780 mm), and access ramps on both sides offer a smooth transition from the floor to the weighing platform, while the durable diamond tread surface reduces slipping. A 10-foot shielded cable allows the indicator to be placed where it is most readable, out of the way of the platform. Convenient handles and wheels provide easy movement to different work areas, while the non-slip, adjustable leveling feet allow for use on many surfaces.
Balances are measuring instruments used to determine the mass of an object, while scales are used to measure the weight of an object. The measurement results from balances are generally considered to be more precise compared to results from scales. Mechanical balances are the simplest type of balance, and use a lever and slide to indicate the measurement. These balances have a cover with doors to prevent dust and airflow from affecting the measurement. Conventional balances are commonly used in offices, the jewelry industry, and in kitchens, and display results digitally, but are less precise and accurate than analytical balances.
